I’ve always gotten all my animals from either rescuing them from a crappy home, taking them off someone else’s shoulders who just couldn’t or didn’t want to care for them anymore, or from the local pound.
My current cat, Ninja, is actually from a tiger trainer I worked with while performing magic. He had tons of tigers, bears, lions, leopards and more… and then he had tons of house cats and this one little pure black kitten was a spit fire and totally took to me.
At the end of our job working with him, he surprised me by bringing her to me at a stop I was at in my car! I was so happy! It just felt like it was right.
All animals (including dogs) before her have been at local pounds or we did have one we got from a super sick pet shop going out of business… every animal in the shop was infected and no one wanted the animals so we adopted one from them and got it better and he was a great cat, just needed a little help to health!
There are too many animals in need of good homes so look at your local pound/shelter before you go shopping for a pure bred $1,000 cat.
