It took seconds and it didn&#8217;t seem to effect my cat negatively. It was a quick thing and if I remember right, went right between the shoulder blades.</p>
<p>I normally can&#8217;t watch much that my vet does with the animals. If I know the animal is uncomfortable&#8230; count me out! But the microchip was implanted before I knew it and I didn&#8217;t have time to turn my head! It happened so fast and practically painless.</p>
<p>If your cat has had a bath or rabies shots, or even his/her temperature taken&#8230; this will be a piece of cake!</p>
<p>The microchip companies have amazing records of reuniting pets and owners. It&#8217;s the safest and easiest thing you can do for your pet. The following companies offer these microchips and your vet will carry one or all of them for you to choose:</p>
